    Trying On – tatcha

Has anyone else noticed the excessive amount of ads there are on news websites? I don’t know if I just never noticed before…? I was trying to watch a news story this morning on a major news network and I couldn’t due to all of the ads that were trying to load. Instead of being able to hear the news commentator, all I could hear was a L’Oreal ad – I guess you can’t keep Anderson Cooper in expensive suits and fresh low-lights by just reporting the news 😛 I am a skincare addict, I love trying new products, tatcha is a luxury skincare line that I have been wanting to try…

    Wednesday Reveal – August Glambag

I have whittled my beauty sub-boxes down to three, I would still like to try a paper/craft subscription box but haven’t found one that seems worth the money. I would also prefer it to be a quarterly box rather than monthly as all of these odds and ends stack up fast when they are coming in every month. My August Ipsy arrived and I am really pleased with this one! I could take or leave the bag, of the choices, I do like the purple colour scheme the most but there are words that could be used to describe me, Wild & Free are not those words. Still, I think it is pretty…

    BOTM – First Impression

I don’t have a beauty post today because the overcast weather that we have been enjoying hasn’t presented a lot of opportunities for photos. I thought that I would share my first month experience with my Book of the Month subscription and a little review of the book that I read. The BOTM club offers a few different membership options, I chose the single book each month for $15 and I can add additional books for $9.99. They offer a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, I find that they have a ton of debut books and new releases to choose from. At the first of each month, they announce what books are…

    Schedule Change & 1,000 Followers

First off, it is so overcast and cloudy today that the chance of experiencing the eclipse even a little is totally shot! It is so black out, it feels as though we are already experiencing one anyway. I hope that if you live in an area where you can see it that you get out there – so jealous!! If I wanted to view the entire eclipse, I would need to travel 307 miles – most unlikely that I will be able to fit that in today 😛 Also, I was watching this warning from a scientist who apparently decided to not wear appropriate eye-wear while viewing a solar eclipse…

Trying On – TonyMoly Take 2

Weird story, I went to get my nails done today at my regular salon and when I paid for my services, the gal said that my card had been declined. I had just used it on my way to the salon for some coffee and thought that was odd. I immediately panicked because the last time that something like this happened, someone had stolen my card number and purchased like 10 airline tickets. The gal said that I should just pay in cash, which I only had enough cash for a tip on me. I called my bank, they said they that there wasn’t a declined transaction and no issues…

    Sample Saturday – Milk Makeup

Things that I don’t understand (aside from most current events at the moment) the Post Office. Sometimes, my job requires me to express mail items, which express mail should have your parcel to the recipient the next day. It costs $23.75 for an envelope, outrageous. I can count on one hand the amount of times that this service has actually been successful. Yesterday, I was ordering something from Amazon that I did not need right away but they were running a same day delivery promotion for free. I was thinking, Ya right, given my experience with shipping logistics. You guys, the package arrived from Ohio to my front door at…

    Currently Coveting – Glitter Lips

PSA – funny story before I get into my actual PSA, I was reading an op-ed not terribly long ago and the author used PSA (Public Service Announcement) prior to just asking a general question. It cracked me up – was it just hyperbole to grab the reader’s attention? I didn’t get it, I am unsure if the author is aware of what the acronym stands for? The second one has literally nothing to do with anything but it made me cackle. Speaking of cackling, how close are we to Halloween, people?! So close. Anyway, PSA – glitter is back in a big way. I will take my glitter pretty much…

    Wednesday Reveal – August Birchbox

I was asked to work on a somewhat creative writing piece at work and totally panicked – I am not a creative writer. I never grasped the concept of creating characters and worlds out of thin air and putting them to paper in a cohesive manner. I kinda’ struggled with it and kept procrastinating – turns out my boss really liked what I turned in. I was elated and then I thought, Well shit. That could have been my best work, anything I crank out now will just be mediocre I have peaked. This is generally how I feel when I do something well, that it won’t get any better than…

    It’s Putty Apparently ft. stila

I was in the grocery store yesterday and there was a whole, giant display of those shitty soft, frosted cookies. You know the ones, nobody knows what they are made of and they are usually slathered in an inch of neon frosting. I find that people either really love these cookies or they really hate them, there is no middle ground. I don’t love them, I think that the frosting always tastes like soap but I think that there should be a flavoured coffee that is Shitty, Soft Frosted Cookie flavour. I think that could work, or Birthday Cake flavoured coffee – I would try that. I don’t add sugar to my coffee…

    A YouTube Short List

I have read a couple of posts like this and enjoy seeing what others watch on YouTube – admittedly, most of the time I am just watching Lip Sync for Your Life (LSFYL) videos or some of the hysterical moments from past seasons: Words to live by, don’t f*ck it up. But when I am not watching queens, here are some of my favourite beauty gurus in no particular order: Pixiwoo – These sisters (Nic and Sam) aren’t gurus, they are the authority on beauty, skincare, hair care and just life in general – I think they are both just so stunning and classy. Even though they are obviously totally glamorous, they seem…
