If I’m Wandering, I Probably Am Lost: A Travel Bucket List

It’s true, I spend a lot of my life lost – some find this endearing and others find it irritating. If I am not going somewhere important where punctuality is expected then I like to take my time and I don’t get stressed out about the inevitable wrong turn. I once got lost on the way to a Chinese food restaurant but ended up just stopping at a different one and it became my Chinese food restaurant of choice. I think that the journey should be as enjoyable as the destination and I like to take my time. I’ve done the tourist experience in quite a few countries but I…

    Valentine’s Day Tag

Tired of hearing about V-day? These are for you: This tag is from last year but I gave it a little reboot – enjoy! Gummie, cinnamon hearts – yea, you should only eat 1 or 2 but they are so delicious. I have an addition to this, I recently discovered these Sea Salt Caramels from Russell Stover and I hope that they are seasonal because I am addicted. Sweethearts suck, talk about Depression-era candy and I am allergic to strawberries. Worst choices ever but I guess I would have to take those tooth cracking, powdery pieces of chemical tasting sugar abominations. I mean, they are really gross – it can’t just…

touch in Sol – First Impressions

touch in Sol is a South Korean brand that was created to embody the vibe and energy of Seoul. Many of the ingredients are natural and skincare minded, the aesthetic is artsy and vibrant and the price points are extremely affordable. When I saw a couple of the products available at Sephora, I checked out their full site to see what else they had to offer. Turns out, they have loads of products and of course I wanted to try them all but settled on a few things. I chose a bottle of the No Poreblem Primer that is available at Sephora and their Advanced Real Moisture Foundation to try.…

    Let’s Get Away

As every red-blooded American is aware, it is Groundhog Day. What is Groundhog Day, you ask? My loose interpretation, the bastard off-spring of a beaver and a prairie dog emerges from its hovel to the delight of thousands of Americans and something about seeing its shadow…blah, blah, blah, 6 more weeks of winter. Also, the groundhog’s name is Phil because that makes sense. We all partake in the delusion that it’s the same Phil but that groundhog has had to have died at least 6 times since I have been alive. I think it actually started as a feast during which people ate groundhog which makes nominally more sense? The only reason I…

    V-Day Watch List

Eek! So, this post might look familiar and it is because I posted this last February. I am not crazy about re-using old posts but when I sat down to start talking about my fave romantic comedies, the list hasn’t changed! Sleepless in Seattle – We all knew this one would be on here, I went through a phase where I was watching this on repeat and then it was removed from Netflix 🙁 (Since it was removed from Netflix, I got a copy of the blu-ray) I took this as a personal affront to my emotional well-being (still true). Sam and Jonah are the sweetest father/son duo who just lost…

    Fave Rom-Com Leading Ladies

Feel free to punch me straight in the face for using Rom-Com, blame it on a pretentious former co-worker of mine who turned me onto this asinine abbreviation for something equally asinine – the romantic comedy. Not being a particularly warm and fuzzy person, I watch my fair share of these sappy, wildly unrealistic, light on plot romps and I tend to enjoy them – I cannot explain it. I mean, they generally make you feel like your own love life is inadequate and that few people find their fairy tale ending but all of that aside, I still watch ’em. Part of the reason that I subject myself to this…

    5 Thoughts On a Friday

I am kind of enjoying these more free-form, stream of consciousness posts – here are 5 things that have been on my mind.     I have done a really good job at cutting dairy out of my diet but cheese and whole milk are my weaknesses. Whole milk has been easier to stop eating, I only use it in cereal and if I don’t treat myself to cereal then I don’t need it. Cheese though, I can literally eat cheese on anything and I do and too much of it. No shame. The narrator is really good which is part of their appeal and the characters are also a lot…

    First Impressions – Paula’s Choice

I read a headline this morning, Do You Text & Drive – It Could Cost You. I have a correction to this, it should have read; Do You Text & Drive – You’re An Asshole & You Could Kill Someone But Since You Won’t Stop, Someone Had to Waste Their Time Instituting New Laws Because Again, You’re An Asshole. Why is that so hard? Who are we afraid of offending? If someone is doing something wrong, just say it – as a society, we are way too concerned with not offending people even when they are doing something wrong. People who text and drive deserve to be offended, they are offensive. I…

    My Life in Books Tag!

I know that I have mentioned that I read a ton, I’ll read anything once – I found this tag on the Dreamland Book Blog and since I have been wanting to expand my content, thought that I would go for it. t’s a short, fun tag – enjoy! S – Summer Sisters, Judy Blume J – I don’t have a J book, how about one of my favourite authors – J.R.R. Tolkien 🙂 E – Endless Night, Agatha Christie Casino Royale, Ian Fleming – I love the Bond books, he is so much more dashing and suave in print. I feel that the movies really played up the sleazy, womanizing character…

    The Gift of Goddess Skin

Just a short beauty post on this sunny day, the metro is blanketed in snow and while it certainly snarled travel plans – it is pretty to look at. Today I am sharing another item that I picked up with my Charlotte Tilbury order – this lovely, little travel trio that included three of her bestselling skincare items. For $59 you can try the Magic Cream, Goddess Skin Clay Mask and Wonder Glow – all of the items are tucked into a burgundy suitcase-esque carton with the brand’s signature rose gold embellishments. This would make a fabulous gift for just about anyone or in my case, an opportunity to have a few products on hand…
