touch in Sol – First Impressions

touch in Sol is a South Korean brand that was created to embody the vibe and energy of Seoul. Many of the ingredients are natural and skincare minded, the aesthetic is artsy and vibrant and the price points are extremely affordable. When I saw a couple of the products available at Sephora, I checked out their full site to see what else they had to offer. Turns out, they have loads of products and of course I wanted to try them all but settled on a few things. I chose a bottle of the No Poreblem Primer that is available at Sephora and their Advanced Real Moisture Foundation to try.…

    Charlotte Tilbury Glowy Base Products

I started watching How To Get Away With Murder, I am hooked – this is why I can’t watch television! The plot is mostly wildly unrealistic but it is one plot twist after another and Viola Davis is everything. It makes me want to go to Law School but somehow I doubt that it is this salacious and I am probably too old now 😛 I have a few products today from my Charlotte Tilbury orders, I am going to break the products out over a couple of posts. I have been using these on and off over the past few weeks, one was an immediate hit and the other…

    Wednesday Reveal – December Glambag

I just finished wrapping gifts this weekend, I like to really draw it out and only wrap a couple at a time. So, I am minding my own business, listening to some Christmas carols on Pandora when The Gael comes on – if you don’t what that is, it was used as the theme for The Last of the Mohicans – bagpipes, drums, the whole nine. This film devastated me in my youth and I cannot listen to the soundtrack to this day without becoming completely distraught. I am that person who will hear a piece of music and just start bawling like an idiot, I heard My Maria by Brooks and Dunn (I…

On the 9th Day of Blogmas – Scent of the Season

I mentioned a few posts back that I purchased a few Charlotte Tilbury products for my treat yo’ self combined Christmas and birthday gifts. I don’t ask for gifts, I don’t want gifts, I can get my own gifts and so I do. I have not put my haul post together because I am still trying many of the products and have already been disappointed by some of the ones that I was most excited for! I am unsure if these products were just so hyped and my expectations were unreasonable but gotta’ say, this is the first year that i have disappointed myself 😀 Anyway, right around Black Friday you…

    Anti-Haul #8

Well, the Christmas decorations are 3/4 of the way up. I hauled out the tree and took a branch to the face and accepted that as a sign that it was too soon. It’s up but I’ll wait a couple of hours days  to garnish it. I have to admit that I am a little shopped out, I got all of the my Christmas shopping done today, happy to report that I survived MOA. With all of the sales going on, I just feel a bit overwhelmed and thought that I am in the perfect mood for an Anti-Haul! Here are a few things that I am compelled to pass…

Wednesday Reveal – Play! The Beauty Remedy Edition

I hate the feeling after a holiday is over of total deflation – after Christmas is the absolute worst even though I do milk the holidays until my birthday. Everything seems so bland and ordinary, I also don’t decorate for the in between time from Halloween to Christmas so my apartment is super dreary looking. Such first world problems, wah-wah. I was literally just saying that I was hoping that Sephora would release more limited edition, luxury Play! bags and they recently launched the Beauty Remedy Edition, there were two options to choose from, each box included 6 samples from top brands with a mix of makeup and skincare. I received the wrong one and…

    Halloween Potluck Recipe

I did not prep a post last night as I was stuffing treat bags, making candied apples and testing out a new crock pot recipe for today’s potluck. Risky, I know – a new recipe for a potluck? Don’t worry, I didn’t put my name on it – it’s from the entire department 😛 In all honesty, even the BF enjoyed it last night and he is hard to please. This is not my recipe, it is a Pinterest find but I did make a few tweaks:   The changes that I made are increasing the liquids with the addition of the half & half, I think that having all of the…

Wednesday Reveal – October Sephora Play!

I was super excited when I saw what I was receiving in my Play! I thought it was a gamble for the featured product to be a foundation, especially from a brand that offers over 40 shades. I have been curious about Makeup Forever foundations for a while and they actually sent a shade that was a good match! I liked that the box was so complexion focused and not just a hodge-podge of products – I felt that it represented the theme of Public Display of Complexion perfectly. Here is what came in my bag! Makeup Forever Ultra HD Invisible Coverage Foundation in Ivory – I have to say that this…

    Sephora Gift Set Wishlist

Apparently, Violet Voss is coming to Sephora and I am a little bummed about it. I guess this does make the brand more accessible but in all honesty, they have such hard time keeping items in stock on their own site – how are they going to stock another retailer? Also, Sephora kinda’ sucks – I would much rather keep purchasing products directly from Violet Voss and I will but this partnership doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Even though Sephora really does mostly suck, they have some amazing gift sets. I have already said that gift sets are either a great introduction to the a brand or a complete waste, I am…

    Fit Me or Flop?

I love it when you find something at the drugstore that is so crazy amazing that it makes you question why you ever spend more than 10 bucks on any product. I picked up a few of the Maybelline Fit Me products in my New at the Drugstore Haul and am happy to report that they are amazing. The two items that I have today are the Matte & Poreless Foundation in 105 and the Loose Finishing Powder in 05. Both shades are perfect for my fair skin with pink undertones but the line does offer quite a range of shades. The Matte & Poreless Foundation ($5.94/ounce) is recommended for normal to oily…
