    #wednesdaywisdom

I have been registered on Twitter since 2011, this is news to me as I don’t even recall why I signed up for it and don’t really understand it. I somehow linked my blog and my Twitter at some point so posts would sporadically appear from me but actual, intentional Tweets are few and far between. Seemingly, it is a platform for all of those opinions that we used to just internalize and keep to ourselves to be unleashed on complete strangers. The most interesting thing that I have discovered about Twitter is that it has a ‘night-mode’ which I think is pretty cool and have started using this as…

Tips for Spending Less Time Adulting

Adulthood, that glorious final stage in life shrouded in mystery that every child dreams of. Well actually, I think a lot kids probably grew up recognizing how stressed and harried most adults were and that tainted the desire to be an adult just a little. I think the biggest misconception that you have about adulthood as a kid is that you will suddenly have all of this freedom in addition to your carefree kid lifestyle; no school, junk food galore, MTV, driving – these things that we want because we cannot have them. I mean, if driving was the big reveal I am here to tell you that not only…

Tips From An Introvert on Being Happy & Well-Adjusted

Happy? Yes. Well-adjusted, I mean, it’s debatable but getting there 😛 I’m an introvert, I would argue that I am an extreme case of introvert and it is something that can interfere with work and my social life but it’s just who I am. It used to really irritate me as a kid (and it still does) when people chalked it up to me being shy or not confident or quiet – I just socialize differently but I can understand how it can put people off. I am clearly no expert but here are some ways that I remain a happy, moderately well-adjusted introvert: Seems simple but it still happens and every…

    Talking Blogging!

January 3rd was my 5 Year Blog Anniversary, I must have started this on my 25th birthday? Now, after a decent first year, I stopped blogging for at least two years and honestly only count this as my 3 Year Anniversary 😀 I am kinda’ at a point where I want to do more with my blog than what I am currently doing and have a few things in mind. I can’t say that these will happen this year or anything but definitely what I am working towards! I really like the Premium subscription for WordPress, nothing against it – very easy to use, there are a handful of themes…

On the Last Day of Blogmas: Décor & MOTD

Yet another Christmas in the books, we did not get 6 inches of snow as predicted – my Christmas wish is that all weather people be fired. Does that job need to even exist? No. I will be packing up the décor today, but took a few snaps of the living room before I get to it. The living room was pretty traditional, the BF doesn’t like the pastels so those primarily go in the middle room and bathrooms. The tree is red and gold: I picked up this wooden sign from Michael’s a couple of years ago, I am headed there tomorrow to check out their clearance and see…

On the 2nd Day of Blogmas – White Elephant

We are doing a White Elephant gift exchange at work and I loathe White Elephant, I always get stressed out. I have a very dry sense of humor and I am not sociable, two things that do not pair well at social gatherings – I am at that person who would end up offending someone as a result of just having zero social skills. Also, it’s 2017 and one cannot breathe without offending someone. Not to mention, I have a difficult time gifting someone something that they won’t like or use and that is kinda’ the whole point here. White Elephant should just be banned, it’s a recipe for disaster. Here are…

On the 1st Day of Blogmas – A Christmas Tag

Or holiday if you’d rather, I personally celebrate Christmas and that’s what I’ll use. Anyway, I found this tag via The Enthusiast and what better way to kick off Blogmas than with a bunch of festive, albeit cliche questions?! If you want to do this tag too, I would love to read your responses so be sure to tag me!   National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, not everyone’s cup of tea but this movie reminds me of our family Christmases growing up – pure mayhem. I have almost always had a white Christmas, I actually get really anxious if we don’t have snow around Thanksgiving – which we don’t, currently and it’s 50 degrees…

31 Nights of Horror – Sleepy Hollow

Confession, I had never watched this movie until just this last weekend and wasn’t going to include it on the list. Unpopular opinion, I am not a fan of Johnny Depp. I don’t know why, he seems like a good actor but I’d watch pretty much any other actor in a movie over him, including Jake Gylenhaall. Yikes. That being said, this movie was all around enjoyable and definitely a new fav! It’s your traditional Ichabod Crane tale but with a bit of twist, in this film Crane is a police constable who is sent to investigate several slayings in Sleepy Hollow where the victims had been beheaded. Depp plays…

    500 Posts: A Reflection

WordPress notified me that I have officially posted 500 times on my blog. Admittedly, I have cheated a little with the double posts for Halloween movies and I hope that the double posts aren’t overwhelming. I am still excited though! What have I talked about in these 500 posts – literally no idea. I started this blog years ago and posted a couple of times, then stopped posting for a year or so until a co-worker randomly found my blog and asked me about it – I had no idea that it was still hanging out in cyberspace. I decided to start posting again, the beauty niche had definitely quadrupled since…

    Beauty Mistakes That I Make

I love when an ad for some magazine that I will never read pops up on the side of my browser with some click bait like, Are you making this common beauty mistake!? To which my response is, probably. Makeup to me is all about personal preference and finding out what works best for you, it annoys me to no end reading articles like this or listening to beauty gurus who tell you not to do something. I mean, yes, there are application techniques that will garner better results for most people but makeup is supposed to be fun. Here are 5 beauty rules that I shamelessly break (call me tacky): Wearing…
