Beauty Insider Appreciation Event – What Did I End up With?

I know that not everyone finds haul posts very interesting, I have tried everything at least once so I will give a mini review as well but will definitely revisit these products at a later date with more info. Did I stick to my list? Yes and no, I did skip on some things and chose a few based on guru recommendations, here’s what I came home with! Most of my purchases were skincare, these kinds of sales are a great opportunity to snag some products that never go on sale. I chose two products from belif because I hadn’t tried the brand before and their products are rumored to…

First Impression Friday – The Zodiac Collection

I can’t lie, ColourPop has released so many new products lately that I got a little jaded and when I saw this new collaboration with Kathleen Lights, I was going to skip it. I didn’t think that the palette looked super wearable but now that I have seen it and swatched it, I know I am going to get a lot of wear out of it. I purchased the bundle and though I haven’t worn anything yet, thought I would share a little peek: This twelve pan palette has purples, blues, browns and a stunning black with gold sparkle. Now, I wasn’t totally sold on The Capricorn being a black…

    Best of July

I wasn’t planning on doing a monthly favourites post because I don’t have very many beauty products but do have quite a few lifestyle bits so I am going for it! Mario Badescu Drying Mask – This mask smells like death but it clears stubborn breakouts like nothing I have ever tried before. I haven’t had too many skin issues but have had some stubborn spots, I use this mask to post treat my face a couple of times a week and it’s amazing! pixi Retinol Tonic – This is a super gentle, daily retinol toner. I don’t often get along with retinol but this tonic doesn’t bother my skin…

    July Trash Talk

The empty bin has just enough empties to do an entire post, I think. Let’s get right to it! Glossier Boy Brow – We already know how deep the love runs for this cult beauty staple and I have already repurchased. There was a time that I thought this tube was a bit dinky for the cost and I still think that but it does last quite a long time, I feel like I get my money’s worth. Glossier Body Hero Oil Wash – I have to admit that the Body Hero release was a bit underwhelming and I really, really do not enjoy the lotion. This body wash made…

  • Monday Must Haves

    Monday Must Have – Milani

I am on a lip-gloss bender, I don’t even know who I am anymore. Long-wear, matte lips never really suited me and I didn’t feel comfortable wearing them but I am fully embracing the lip-gloss come back. I have been using a few different brands lately but the Keep it Full Nourishing Lip Plumper has been my daily product since I picked it up a few weeks ago. Not all lip-gloss is created equal and most glosses are nowhere near the goopy, gloppy, scummy products of my youth but this takes the cake for the perfect formula, in my opinion. The component is short and round so it’s as easy…

    Colourpop New Releases Haul!

Oh, ColourPop snatching my cash at every possible opportunity. If you didn’t know which I don’t know how one couldn’t, ColourPop recently released a new foundation that comes in a load of shades and only costs $12. I have watched a few reviews and they were consistently good so I decided to order some after a bit of hesitation. The hesitation was mostly a result of the fact that I just don’t need more foundation but I have a problem, the first step is admitting it. I didn’t know what shade to get and I have to say that in person, the two that I ordered look almost identical. I…

  • Monday Must Haves

Monday Must Have – Australian Gold

Shout out to Kim for posting about this amazing sunscreen in her Affordable Alternatives to Drunk Elephant Skincare post and convincing me to give it a whirl! I am not one to be on the look out for dupes, mostly because I am just bad at it and the few that I have found have been completely by accident. I appreciate all of you who put in the time finding dupes and then sharing them because it’s super helpful! Sunscreen and I do not get along, never have and it’s really frustrating since I have to wear sunscreen because I burn so easily. Most sunscreens will either break me out…

    First Impression Friday – Glossier

It’s June 15th, people, Incredibles II came out today and you better believe that I will be pushing little kids down in the theater tonight. Also, I don’t want to hear any crying or whining from any kids who can’t respect the sanctity of this film, I will be shushing so fair warning. Seriously though, is anyone else super jazzed that this finally came out?! Too bad I am so responsible, should’ve cut work – I hope my employer appreciates this sacrifice. I woke up early so that I could take some photos of my makeup but it was thunder-storming and I gave up on a good shot but I…

    Glossier Haul

Glossier – the brand that I am not nearly cool enough to use but keeps sucking me in with their flawless marketing and minimal chic aesthetic. Just take my money. I have been waiting to use up the rest of my tube of Boy Brow before I placed an order for their new mascara, it’s been a tense few weeks as I was sure that it would sell out but I was in luck. There were also a couple of new products that I have been waiting to try and some of them I anti-hauled but purchased anyway because I’m a jackass. Judge me later, let’s get to the goodies!!…

    May Trash Talk

I am changing the title of my monthly empties posts to Trash Talk because it’s corny and vaguely 90’s. I am not going to post my faves for May because I only had two products that were new to my faves and all of the others, I had definitely posted about before – I will just save everything for June! I didn’t have too bad of a month for using things up in May and am slowly but surely reducing my products which feels great. Let’s get started! Wet ‘n Wild PhotoFocus Matte Primer – I think this is a great everyday, lightweight primer that provides a decent amount of…
