    See Ya 2018!

2018 was a year and though the passing of time can make me feel a bit melancholy, I’m glad it’s behind me and am looking forward to a bright, shiny 2019. While my year is ending in an incredibly different place than where it started, I am filled with a since of contentment and peace that’s actually pretty surprising. I’m ending the year with a little tag since this could get a little rambly and nonsensical if I let my emotions take the wheel πŸ˜› Going to Fleetwood Mac! It was a totally last minute outing, I had been waffling back and forth on going and then I couldn’t find…

Fashion Inspo: Ring In, in Sequins

Every year around my birthday, I get the itch for a new tattoo and I start scouring the website for tattoo ideas. Then I start to assess how many lines are in each design and talk myself out of a tattoo because I don’t want it to be painful which is nuts because tattoos are just painful. My first tattoo wasn’t actually that painful, I don’t remember it being painful at least and I never felt the artist actually dragging the needle to create lines. The tattoo on my neck which, is a carbon copy of the tattoo on my face was literally the worst. I felt the needle just…

Blogmas Day 22: Best of December

Apparently, my gift to myself this year was getting sick. I feel like I don’t appreciate the small things in life like being able to breathe through two nostrils and not staying up all night coughing enough until I’m sick. It’s odd that I know that as soon as this passes, I’ll forget all about the misery and go back to taking for granted my two working nostrils. I was actually better today than I was two days ago so hopefully back to normal before Christmas. I kept noticing a weird phenomenon at work today, primarily women telling their kids or whoever they were shopping with to not tell their…

Blogmas Day 20: How Not to Suck at Secret Santa

I haven’t had the dis-pleasure of participating in a Secret Santa exchange at work in a number of years and it’s been pretty great. Rumor has it though that a gift exchange is possibly on the agenda for next year and it got me thinking about why I loathe this cheesy, impersonal practice so much. Mostly because I always get screwed and I mean, it’s not like you’re going to get an amazing gift but I always get the person who cocks it up, puts no effort into it and digs something out of their desk like an asshole. I get that buying something for a complete stranger or work…

Blogmas Day 19: My Out of Control Amazon Wishlist

I have an Amazon shopping addiction, I don’t love that I have this because I do feel like the convenience of online shopping has impacted the profitability of brick and mortar stores. The thing that I do like about Amazon is that instead of purchasing from 3-4 different sellers at a time, generating 3-4 packages, putting additional delivery trucks on the road – I can order several items that all come together in one order. Still, I have tried to curb my purchases from them but have still been adding items to my wishlist and it’s gotten a bit out of hand! I kind of have various categories; items that…

Blogmas Day 18: Easy Cinnamon Rolls

We had a brunch at work and I didn’t know what to bring, I can’t even recall what I brought last year but I wanted something different that was still easy so I busted out a tried and true cinnamon roll recipe that is pretty hard to mess up. People get stressed out about yeast but this recipe is great because it only requires one rise and it’s after you have the rolls cut and in the pan so you don’t really have to worry about your dough not rising.     I recommend using a super sharp knife to cut the rolls or they’ll just get squashed, mine never…

Blogmas Day 17: My A to Z’s of Christmas

I have read a few of these posts recently and enjoyed them so much, I didn’t do this last year so figured it would be a fun addition to the Blogmas rotation. I think it’s like a word association exercise where you come up with a holiday related word for each letter of the alphabet – let’s get to it! The church where I attend Christmas mass has this enormous statue of Michael in the mezzanine, it used to be at the front doors but I think it was moved because it’s terrifying in it’s magnitude. Over the years I have come to associate this statue with some of my…

Blogmas Day 16: Living Room Decor

Do you ever find yourself scrolling through someone’s Instagram or reading their blog and wondering if they are a real person? It sounds nuts but I’ve always pondered on existence and whether or not we live in a simulation which is probably just an indication that I watch the Sci-Fi channel too much. But it makes me wonder sometimes, having never met these people that I follow and read about online, if they really exist. Is this an existential crisis – it feels like one. I realized today that I still had not blogged about the rest of my home decor or the stuff I put up at work either…

Blogmas Day 15: Glam Mr. Grinch

Breaking news, I finally lost an eyelash – not the wonky one that I wanted to lose but I was anticipating this moment for the past week. I’m actually really impressed that I’ve only lost one eyelash and I’ve had the lashes on for a week, that isn’t shabby. At this rate, I feel like I could wait it out for a 4 week fill but we’ll see if they start coming out more frequently as time passes. Also, it’s 40 degrees outside and global warming has fucked my mood – everything is melting and brown and smells like manure. I thought that we had at least a few months…

    Blogmas Day 14: Garnet Eyes

People, the stars finally aligned and I was on Instagram just as Pixi Beauty posted that their giant Glow-Tonic would be available and I finally snagged one! I’ve literally never managed to purchase one of these coveted jumbo-bottles and I am so excited. It gets better even because it’s the holiday edition, I’m so pumped but that has nothing to do with today’s post πŸ˜› I picked up a couple of the Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows that I thought were good for the holidays. I have to say that these and the glitter shadows are kinda’ hit or miss with the quality. Some shades are super vibrant and…
