Blogmas Day 1: Christmas Bedroom Decor

Merry First Day of Blogmas! I hope that everyone is enjoying all of the festive-themed posts so far. For tonight’s post I am sharing a peek of the Christmas decor that I have put up in my bedroom. I love the pastel shades that were popular in the 1950’s as well as the funky shapes and textures, I borrowed most of my inspiration from this era for my theme. The gold and pink garland above my bed was a Michael’s find, the tree ornaments are a hodgepodge that I have been collecting over the years and the trio of pink trees are all from Hobby Lobby. The two in front…

    Best of November

We are already at that time of year where I leave for work, it’s dark and then I leave from work and it’s dark so I don’t have a lot of time to get blog photos taken. I do have like 3 strands of lights leftover from tree decorating so we’ll try to make this happen but I don’t think they’ll be great quality. I don’t want to skip posting because I don’t have my own photos to use but I also don’t love using internet images or snips in posts too often. Anyway, here are some things that made my November a little better! Here’s the deal, I don’t…

    Vintage Inspired Christmas Decor

I haven’t been on here the last two days because I’ve been busy and by busy, I’ve been sleeping. Actually, I had to do a big grocery shop on Thursday for Thanksgiving and it takes me an unacceptable amount of time to complete this task then get home and put it all away. I’m preparing a huge appetizer spread for any of my local friends who want to come over since I didn’t make plans to go home this year and I work all next weekend anyway. I’m making soft pretzels, toasted tortellini, baked cheese, caprese skewers, artichoke dip, spinach and cheese taquitos – just a bunch of junk food…

    Threshold Flannel Sheets: A Mood

Before we get to the sheets, I have to vent – what else is new? When I was at Target purchasing said sheets, I overheard a lady tell her friend, Well it could be worse. I hate it when people say this to someone who is having a rough day or complaining about something that seems menial. When did life become a suffering competition? Yea, of course it could be worse but just let someone have their moment to vent, being compassionate is the least someone can do. Everyone’s perception of hardship is different, it’s not a competition. Anyway, I wanted some flannel sheets since there’s snow on the ground…

Blogtober Day: XVIII – Ocher, the Shade of the Season

Can we talk about YouTubers? I have no idea how they make the amount of money that they portray that they do. I get that there are brand endorsements, sponsorships and ad money but it baffles me that these people amass so much wealth doing nothing. I can’t lie, I am about an eyelash extension away from trying to be the next Trisha Paytas. I totally don’t get it but I’d drive around in a Range Rover eating Taco Bell, yakking about everything but saying nothing as a job. I went down a 3-hour wormhole watching her vlog channel, she’s fascinating but I have no idea why. I mentioned in…

Blogtober – Day 1: Fall to do List

Apparently, I am not making this up and Blogtober is actually a thing. Blogtober is a daily blogging challenge along the same lines as Blogmas which, I find easier since I feel as though I do a lot more for Christmas than fall but this will still be fun! For everyone who is already tired of hearing about fall, there is snow in the forecast next week for MN so you might catch a break 😀 Seeing as how we were jipped out of spring, wouldn’t it just figure that we go straight into another long winter? Could we please just have a few weeks of non-extreme weather? Anyway, if…

Best of September, Halloween Decor & 31 Nights of Horror!

You guys, flu season just started, actually I don’t even know if it that’s true but I’ve already contracted strep and now I have the flu within the scope of a month. I’m so pissed, I tend to make it through flu season unscathed, this better not be a prelude for the rest of the year. I have missed two days of blogging due to feeling like death so am just throwing a bunch of stuff into this post that I had planned for the last couple of days of September. I only have a few items that I would consider Best Of’s for this month and very few empties…

    Fall Decor Mood Board

I was just perusing Pinterst when I came upon this article from Elle entitled; Outdated Home Trends We Hope May Never Come Back. And I’m like; That’s my entire apartment you whore. Someone’s personal style can be trendy without being driven by temporary trends – it’s called style, read a Vogue. Anyway, I have a four-day weekend for the simple reason that I just don’t want to be at work having to be nice to people. I feel that’s a good enough reason. My only agenda is to scope out every homeware store in a 40 mile radius and get some fall decor. By fall, I mean Halloween because I already…

Monday Must Have – KKW Beauty

Have you ever just been walking along, mostly minding your own business, thinking about the delicious things you are planning to eat for dinner when you full-on eat shit? Legit me leaving the craft store today. No ice, it had been raining so maybe my sandal was slick but still – talk about lame, falling down for no reason. Then, the person who you are with says, I think you should get screened for MS. Yes, THANK YOU for being so helpful. In their defense, they were with me the last time I fell down but it was on ice so I had good reason. I found some new additions to my…

The Case of the Missing Screws – A Rant

I realized something last night, I have a difficult time watching or listening to something for pure entertainment without imposing real-life judgement and opinions on it. Is this what the rest of my life will be like?! It’s torture! I was watching Gilmore Girls last night, yet again, and I got so annoyed because Rory is the most obnoxious, entitled, spoiled brat literally ever. The mother/daughter relationship is a toxic friendship at best and I just can’t watch it. What mother would behave like the pouting, simpering immature woman that Lorelai is? Ugh. I tell  you, does anyone else experience this? Why can’t we just mindlessly take in entertainment simply…
