    Spring Releases Anti-Haul

I took a couple of days off from blogging because I didn’t realize that having these teeth removed would be such a giant pain in the ass. When I got home after surgery, I was just kind of sitting there thinking, this is fine. But then I fell asleep and woke up and it wasn’t fine, I have one infected socket and one dry socket which is extremely painful. Which, they told me the day of the procedure that it would be but I guess I didn’t believe them because it’s not like they are doctors or anything. I haven’t had solid food in like a week and have been…

Hello, January: A Little Life Update

It was doom and gloom all weekend, aside from when I was working at ULTA and the sun was literally shining the most that it ever has in my entire lifetime and then it was dark when I left so, I didn’t get to take any blog photos. I know that I have been doing more chatty content and less product content lately but hopefully I can get some photos this week, in the meantime, let’s have a bit of a catch-up! Veganuary is in full swing and it’s been going fine, I say fine because it really hasn’t been a huge change since I don’t eat a lot of…

When You’ve Only Got 100 Years to Live

Every year, I wake up on my birthday and have one of those Sixteen Candles moments where I assess myself in the mirror and expect a tangible change of some kind. Like, one day I am going to be this sophisticated woman who has all of her shit together, a closet stocked with an assortment of power suits, a briefcase, a British accent, a 4-door sedan – you know, all of the little things that I feel I should acquire at the ripe age of 32. And the breast thing, I have been waiting for that to happen for literally the last 17 years and I’m still fucking waiting 😛…

    New Year, New Content?

Ah yes, with the ringing in of the New Year comes the commitment to live a renewed existence – 2019 is the year that we get fitter, smarter, stronger, healthier, more educated and dominate the world (just like the last 31 years). In all seriousness, there is something refreshing about the start of bright, shiny year that does make me want to make some kind of a change but I just can’t put my finger on what it is specifically. When I started this blog, it was strictly all things makeup and beauty, I soon realized that I had pigeon holed myself into a niche that didn’t totally define me.…

    See Ya 2018!

2018 was a year and though the passing of time can make me feel a bit melancholy, I’m glad it’s behind me and am looking forward to a bright, shiny 2019. While my year is ending in an incredibly different place than where it started, I am filled with a since of contentment and peace that’s actually pretty surprising. I’m ending the year with a little tag since this could get a little rambly and nonsensical if I let my emotions take the wheel 😛 Going to Fleetwood Mac! It was a totally last minute outing, I had been waffling back and forth on going and then I couldn’t find…

Blogmas Day 24: Merry Christmas Eve

Well, this is Christmas I think to myself staring around at my apartment, sipping spiced wine. I’m still sick, I did make a brief appearance at a Christmas Eve party but I cancelled my plans for tomorrow as there would be elderly people and kids involved and I’d hate to get anyone sick. I don’t think I’m contagious anymore but I’m not risking it and it will be nice to have a day to myself anyway. I’m feeling a bit down this Christmas probably because of the newly single thing but I also get a little melancholy over the flippant passing of time before my birthday and I’ve got some…

Blogmas Day 23: Best Television Series Christmases

I cannot believe that in two short days I will have to take down all of my Christmas decorations actually, that’s a lie because I leave them up until my birthday in early January but still! I have a bit of a tradition of watching all of my favorite television series’ Christmas episode while I take my decorations down. I love a good Christmas episode, I have a few of my favorites on deck for this year. The team inadvertently releases bio-hazard in the lab and has to be on lock-down through Christmas but that doesn’t stop them from solving a decades old murder and finding a way to still…

Blogmas Day 20: How Not to Suck at Secret Santa

I haven’t had the dis-pleasure of participating in a Secret Santa exchange at work in a number of years and it’s been pretty great. Rumor has it though that a gift exchange is possibly on the agenda for next year and it got me thinking about why I loathe this cheesy, impersonal practice so much. Mostly because I always get screwed and I mean, it’s not like you’re going to get an amazing gift but I always get the person who cocks it up, puts no effort into it and digs something out of their desk like an asshole. I get that buying something for a complete stranger or work…

Blogmas Day 19: My Out of Control Amazon Wishlist

I have an Amazon shopping addiction, I don’t love that I have this because I do feel like the convenience of online shopping has impacted the profitability of brick and mortar stores. The thing that I do like about Amazon is that instead of purchasing from 3-4 different sellers at a time, generating 3-4 packages, putting additional delivery trucks on the road – I can order several items that all come together in one order. Still, I have tried to curb my purchases from them but have still been adding items to my wishlist and it’s gotten a bit out of hand! I kind of have various categories; items that…

Blogmas Day 17: My A to Z’s of Christmas

I have read a few of these posts recently and enjoyed them so much, I didn’t do this last year so figured it would be a fun addition to the Blogmas rotation. I think it’s like a word association exercise where you come up with a holiday related word for each letter of the alphabet – let’s get to it! The church where I attend Christmas mass has this enormous statue of Michael in the mezzanine, it used to be at the front doors but I think it was moved because it’s terrifying in it’s magnitude. Over the years I have come to associate this statue with some of my…
