    Top Ten Tuesday – Scatterbrained

Do you ever feel as though your brain never shuts off and it isn’t like you’re sitting around solving all world’s problems, it’s just a random collection of thoughts? Same. 2003, that’s what. Back before it was trendy to be ashamed of the President and openly mock him, Natalie Maines made a rather innocuous comment about GW (my pet name for Bush) that completely ruined their career. You could compare the situation to the Kathy Griffith debacle but that was straight nuts. I just cannot believe that they never bounced back from that, they were so huge in the early 00’s. Like the pasta I had for dinner last night…

    Deja Dead – A Review

With spoilers so tap out now if you intend to read this book and don’t want the plot ruined! Alright, I mentioned a few weeks back that I was in need of a new book series and I had compiled a list of popular television shows that were based on a book series. One of those being one of my all-time favourite shows, Bones. If you haven’t watched the show, it’s about a forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan who works with a varying group of scientists at the Smithsonian Institution and they collaborate with the FBI to solve a number of cases. It’s pretty straightforward, the bad guy is usually…

    A Little Modcloth Haul

I have listened to the Lore podcast for literally years, I love it – I would describe it as a collection of spooky real-life tales that are horror leaning but not terribly unsettling. I also really enjoy the narrator, he is very engaging and the tales are just long enough to get you hooked and then set out to find out more on your own. About a year ago, Amazon came out with a show called Lore and I was like, that looks stupid. But then today while loading up my podcast fix, I realized that the font used for Lore reminded me of something and it took me awhile…

    Wednesday Wisdom

I love those days where you don’t plan a post and you think that you can just come home after work and put something together but then you have a work meeting that goes until 9 PM, 9 freaking PM and you’re in a surly-ass mood when you finally get home and get to wash your greasy face. Me, right now. Instead of a lovely collection of quotes for this Wednesday Wisdom, I just have some sage personal advice that I’ve collected over these 31 years. You’d think that this would be something that one would assess before having kids, a trip to Target will tell you otherwise. I find…

    Fall Tag!

Guess what time it is? Time for a fall tag, my thoughts exactly 😛 It’s the first rainy, cool day that we have had in a few weeks and I am feeling the vibe. I saw this on tumblr, I don’t know how active this account is but the tag looked like a lot of fun and just what I needed this afternoon! I did skip some because I felt it was a little long. Ms. Frizzle which is pretty much my go-to for Halloween these days since I just have the wardrobe for it and don’t need to purchase new items generally. Any hot soup with crusty bread for…

    Life-Changing Inventions from My Lifetime

First, I have lost my Gloss Bomb – it’s my favourite lip gloss and it goes everywhere with me so I have no idea how I lost it but alas. I don’t want to purchase a new one because I just bought a new tube like 3 months ago and that shit’s expensive. I could to a psychic and have them tell me where it is for less than a new tube. Things I would consider going to a psychic for: location of lost lip gloss, find out if a serial killer lives in my building and where does Home Depot find all of those hot guys to be in…

    Halloween Decor Haul!

I had today off for the sole purpose of finishing my shopping for Halloween decor. I wanted to be out early and home early because I can’t be bothered with people, so I am driving around at 6 AM and realized that the only stores open that early are grocery stores, Walmart and pharmacies. I haven’t been going into Walmart, I blogged about that a while ago because I just don’t love supporting them. I sucked it up and found some really cute things, I hope that my $34 goes to a good cause. Next stop was Target which didn’t have their Halloween stuff out even though their website said…

    Fall Decor Mood Board

I was just perusing Pinterst when I came upon this article from Elle entitled; Outdated Home Trends We Hope May Never Come Back. And I’m like; That’s my entire apartment you whore. Someone’s personal style can be trendy without being driven by temporary trends – it’s called style, read a Vogue. Anyway, I have a four-day weekend for the simple reason that I just don’t want to be at work having to be nice to people. I feel that’s a good enough reason. My only agenda is to scope out every homeware store in a 40 mile radius and get some fall decor. By fall, I mean Halloween because I already…

    Wednesday Wisdom – Rushing Time

Do you know what peeves me off? Time, just in general, I find it very irritating. Time doesn’t actually exist, it’s only 6:30 pm in Minnesota because we all have this understanding and choose to participate in this human contrived notion of time. And then on top of all of this time shit, we have all of these deadlines which is like time within time – time squared. We manage our time to the point that we don’t have any. It’s nuts, it drives me crazy, I’d like to get off the ride now. I just want to get up when the sun comes up, go to work, get as…

Top Ten Tuesday – Reasons to Love America

I tend to feel more patriotic on the anniversary of 9/11 than I do on the Fourth of July. I think it’s because while I know that the American Revolution occurred it doesn’t feel as tangible to me as the 9/11 attacks. I think it’s a fatal flaw of the shortsightedness of human beings, we can be very knowledgeable of what happened 50, 100, 150 years ago but the impact of these events seemingly fade with time. The events that are happening now are a very real example of its citizens either forgetting the mistakes of the past or choosing to ignore them. That aside, it’s still a pretty great…
