    Currently Coveting: Volition Beauty

It seems like there is a new beauty brand launching every minute of every day. I don’t recall the beauty industry being so saturated when I was a kid and would go with my mom to the makeup counter. There were like 5 brands and generally, she would purchase all of her items from one counter. Now there are 100’s of brands pedaling much of the same bullshit and generally new brands don’t interest me. Seen it, seen it, seen it. They think their no-name products are worth how much?! I took a second look at Volition Beauty mostly because of their packaging and some ingredients that caught my eye…

touch in Sol – First Impressions

touch in Sol is a South Korean brand that was created to embody the vibe and energy of Seoul. Many of the ingredients are natural and skincare minded, the aesthetic is artsy and vibrant and the price points are extremely affordable. When I saw a couple of the products available at Sephora, I checked out their full site to see what else they had to offer. Turns out, they have loads of products and of course I wanted to try them all but settled on a few things. I chose a bottle of the No Poreblem Primer that is available at Sephora and their Advanced Real Moisture Foundation to try.…

    Best Drugstore Foundation of 2018?

I need a click bait-y thumbnail with me pouring foundation all over my face and an asinine amount of heart emojis to go with this title. I know it’s only January and this foundation may actually have been available in late 2017 but it only just hit the shelves in my go-to drugstores. The Super Stay Full Coverage Foundation from Maybelline is so amazing that I would be stunned if something as good or better dropped at the drugstore this year. This product claims to be lightweight, provide full but seamless coverage, even out and enhance skin all while minimizing the appearance of flaws and imperfections. There are 16 shades,…

    Anti-Haul Spring Collections Edition

I feel like I just stopped receiving emails about holiday sales and after-holiday sales and blah, blah, blah and now I am getting Spring collection emails! Side note, it feels Spring’ish here – we’re at a balmy 37 degrees and after the sub-zeros it feels amazing but also concerns me. It is supposed to rain tonight and then freeze over before it snows, it’s going to be so fantastic. I have to be honest, Spring collections never interest me because of the obligatory pastels and pinks – there are some unique collections coming out this season but here are all of the beauties that I am passing on: Oh, Chanel, I…

    New at the Drugstore Haul!

And by drugstore, I mean Wal-Mart. I went there this morning for coffee since they are the only ones who are open super early and managed to have way too much fun in the makeup aisle. I was on the hunt for a couple of new releases and they literally had everything that I have been wanting to check out – that never happens and it is probably for the best 🙂 Side note, these pictures are not super great because I took them inside – mer, mer.  I am jumping on the FitMe bandwagon, I have read/watched so many rave reviews about this line and I was on the hunt for the new…

Naked Heat Collection – First Impressions

Leave it to British television to rip your guts out – between the finale of The Fall and how Broadchurch season two ended, I’m a little distraught. I am excited to see David Tennant in another season of Broadchurch but I am going to have to take a breather. I still haven’t gotten over Rose *sob* or Donna Noble for that matter – who the hell writes this stuff?! My co-worker asked me if I ever get tired of putting on eye makeup *gasp* I get that it may not be everyone’s cup of tea to do their makeup everyday and I like to sleep as much as the next person but I…

    First Impression: tarte Clay Stick

I wonder if UPS people know how much joy they bring to people who have been obsessively tracking their packages and literally bolt to the door when it finally arrives? It must be a very rewarding career 😀 I was going to share my Sephora haul but I feel so weird about sharing hauls, which is weird because I love reading haul posts but it makes me feel weird. How many times can I say the word weird? I am super into makeup but I also read and do other things, just so you know 😛 I dunno, I’ll think about it. Let’s talk about how many face mists I…

    Blur-Fect

I have been looking for a body modification artist in the Minneapolis area and now my Instagram feed is all split tongues and extreme gauging. No judgement. I just want a hole punched in my cartilage so that I can stack little hoops in it. I don’t have any piercings because they don’t heal, but I think an open wound heal, right…? But apparently what I want isn’t a regular piercing, it is considered a cartilage modification. The best that I have seen so far is by brookebittenspiercing but she is CT based. Sad face. But how super neat is this: I already shared some products from my Milk Makeup…

    Wednesday Reveal – May Glambag

It just doesn’t feel like summer or spring even, it feels like fall! I had the heat back on only two days ago but I cannot complain about the rain I suppose. The bee garden is thriving, we had 9 bee visitors on Sunday. Only 4 of which I am certain were different bees as I saw them at the same time. Do bees have unique markings? Unsure, anyway – even though the warm weather isn’t here quite yet the Ipsy Glambag for this month is giving me summer vibes (I need to strike that word from my vocabulary)! I think the theme is Summer Friday…? I never know, here is what came…

    First Impressions – tarte Primer

I am so patiently  waiting for Twin Peaks season three to start this evening! I didn’t need to get caught up because I have the series on repeat as part of my regular entertainment 😛 Kyle MacLachlan is my ultimate celebrity crush, well right behind David Duchovny that is and I am realizing now that I apparently have a thing for quirky, fictional FBI agents. I think it’s the nondescript black suits, crisp white button downs and skinny ties – and the aviators, definitely the aviators. Perhaps a fantasy (can I call it a fantasy, that seems creepy) that I will never realize in real life – I mean, how…
