When Only a Spritz Will Do

Eek! I will be back next Wednesday with a sub-box reveal and tonight I want to share my first impressions of the new Mario Badescu face spray that arrived yesterday! I think that many people use and love the Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater spray for countless reasons. For me, I appreciate the simplistic packaging, the price and the perfect combination of ingredients. I use this spray as a toner in the AM/PM and during the day when I just want to freshen up my makeup. This simple spray immediately soothes and hydrates. The effect of a couple of spritzes is other-worldly, this spray immediately hydrates my skin and perks up…

    Sample Saturday – dr. brandt

As mentioned a few posts ago, I am reserving Saturdays for posts on products that I received as samples and enjoyed so much that I decided to snag a full size of. If I don’t have one then I will just talk about a sample that I received and whether I liked it or not – I hope that these are enjoyable. For my first post I will share my thoughts on the dr. brandt Pores no More Cleanser, I received this sample in my December Birchbox and used it immediately. At the time I was all, I have pores, you have pores – we all have pores, blah, blah,…

    Blogmas: Day 8

I have pledged that I am not falling down this winter. Every year I take a digger on the ice and this is the year that I will embody grace, agility and balance. I almost lost it this morning coming across the parking lot but managed to make it into work unscathed. Now only 120 (or so) days and I’m golden 😀 I thought that I would start the week with my winter skin care routine as it is different than my year round routine. As soon as the temperatures drop below 40 it is a never ending cycle of buffing, moisturizing and moisturizing, buffing. Not only am I prone to acne, I have areas…

    Glossier Haul!

Eek! Watching more Tales From the Crypt and I forgot about all of the great cameos this series had;  Demi Moore, Teri Hatcher, Kyle MacLachlan, Whoopi Goldberg, Dan Aykroyd, Tom Hanks and they are all so young and shiny. It is just fun to watch all of these mega stars prior to them being famous in such a cheese-tacular TV show. The Crypt Keeper’s one-liners are amazing, I have been trying to work them into everyday conversations (nobody gets it)… I am super excited, my Glossier order arrived and I purchased some products that I have never tried before this time around. If you aren’t familiar with the brand then…

    Holiday Wish List

Eek! As I start seeing more advertisements for holiday releases and holiday themed sales, I realize that we are hurtling towards this holiday season at warp speed. I love the holidays, with Halloween being the kick-off to my holiday season I get a good 2’ ish months of festivities. However, I dread it every year! I truly believe in holiday high and I come down hard. Once the decorations and music and snow starts to dissipate, I get seriously blue. I don’t do a lot of material stuff but I have so much fun making and sending cards, baking goodies for the office, watching holiday movies, volunteering, cooking, getting bundled…

    Cruel to be Kind

Before I jump into this review, I just wanted to say  I know that Clinique is not cruelty free and I won’t be repurchasing these 2 items after I have finished them. I strongly support brands that are cruelty free and having volunteered with shelter animals for years now, I am striving to move to all cruelty free brands. Don’t get me wrong, I own a lot of cosmetics that are not cruelty free and this is a more recent effort on my part. That being said, it really irks me that brands who are well-known for being cruelty free are owned by larger brands that aren’t. To me it…

    NARS Attack

I am in a personal, moral struggle with the expansion of Hy-Vee into Minnesota. I just think that the amount of grocery stores that are available is a tad, well disgusting. In the suburb that I live in we already have two CUBS, two SuperTargets, Fresh and Thyme, Wal Mart SuperCenter, Costco, Sam’s Club, Kowalski’s, Lund’s and an Aldi that is being built (this one really pisses me off because they are building a brand new building right next to a recently vacated Rainbow grocery store that is sitting empty). Did I mention that all of the Twin Cities Rainbow grocery stores were recently shuttered? Is there really a demand…

    Smashbow – Winter Skin Primers

I purchased some new tops this past weekend, just thin cotton tops that I can wear under cardigans or other shirts when it gets really cold. Apparently they are in fact burn out tops and way more sheer than I thought, long story short – I wore a sheer top to work and am absolutely mortified. I had a cardigan on as well so I guess I just didn’t notice and maybe nobody else did, fingers crossed. Anyway, I feel like a complete moron and it is turtle necks for the rest of my life. It was cold this morning – legitimately cold and it was wonderful. This weekend was…

    Yes to Detoxify

Confession; I have this irrational anxiety that I will lose my phone then someone will find it and judge me for my shit taste in music. They will never have the opportunity to experience my vast interests and eccentricities, only that I own every power ballad and cheesy rock anthem ever to have been recorded. I give my playlists names like Inspiration and Fresh Air to mask what they have on them – really they are just chalk full of Rod Stewart, Genesis, KISS, REO Speedwagon, Sweet, Andy Kim – you get the idea 😀 Anyway, I have been waiting ever so patiently for some of the new Yes To…

    Stick to (Less) Than Flawless

Confession: I am addicted to Scream Queens. Disclaimer: I am more of an X-Files kinda’ gal but when I was flipping through shows and saw Jamie Lee Curtis, whom I have loved ever since True Lies – sold. Plus, it is hysterical in an over-acting, hyperbolic, basic, I shouldn’t find any of this stuff funny kinda’ way and who can’t appreciate that? Anyway, I think that I have tried about every foundation stick currently on the market and many while decent still lack something. My go to has been Dermablend but when I saw that Anastasia Beverly Hills was set to release a stick foundation with a broader range of shades,…
