Top Ten Tuesday – Overpriced Items at Sephora

I just used up a sample face cream that I liked much more than I thought that I would and about peed my pants when I took a look at the full-size retail price. We all know that makeup and skincare can be very expensive and I got to browsing the Sephora website to see just how out of hand it can get and was not disappointed. Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Brush Collection – This brush roll retails at a whopping 650 bucks! La Mer The Concentrate – Of course this brand had to make the list, one ounce of this elixir will cost you $370. Tom Ford Eye Color…

    Sephora VIB Spring Sale Wishlist!

Do you ever read a book that is so freaking good that you have to start it all over? I just finished The Legacy by Yrsa Sigurdardottir and it was amazing. I tend to really like her books but this one is definitely a new fave. It’s not for the squeamish, there are some pretty gritty scenes and intense themes but it was fantastic. I hope that this is just a taste of the Nordic thrillers that are releasing this month. While I have not received my paper coupon (do they still send those), the VIB Rouge sale starts April 13th and since I am making a conscientious effort to…

    Back to Bare

The next time that I have to consider if a book is worth the emotional upset of finishing or not, I have got to just stop reading the book. I finished Sunburn, talk about an emotional train-wreck – I am still distraught. Even though I have almost convinced myself that the plot is wildly unrealistic and I say almost because I believe mankind to be the only monsters that exist and capable of most evils, I am still upset about how it ended. I was not expecting that ending – I don’t even know if I recommend the book or not because it was just such a tragedy. I have…

Wednesday Reveal – December Sephora Play!

I received a notification that Nylon is no longer offering their monthly box and I am unsure if I will be receiving a box for December or not! This somewhat inspired me to cancel all of my subscription boxes, I have 3 shoe boxes of samples to use up and though I love getting the little beauty bags, it seems wasteful. I am also at a point where I know what my skin needs, I know what kind of makeup I like and I don’t get as much joy out of new things to try. I will definitely keep an eye out for luxe boxes and limited edition boxes but…

    Sample Saturday – AmorePacific

AmorePacific is one of those brands that I find has some really fantastic products that are worth the price tag and then some products that are pretty average and over-priced. I received the Treatment Cleansing Foam in a deluxe-size sample and now that I have used the entire tube, I am categorizing this product as average. This product claims to be great for normal, oily and combination skin. It is supposed to remove makeup and impurities without stripping the skin and combat breakouts. The thing is, it isn’t really formulated with anything that has been proven to work miracles, the hype is all around the inclusion of red-ginseng and a…

Wednesday Reveal – November Sephora Play!

I don’t know if I am doing Blogmas this year, I find it really hard to write posts that are holiday related. I mean, I love Christmas but how does one talk about it for 25 straight days?! I enjoy reading everyone’s Blogmas but I myself am in need of some holiday inspo. It’s funny that the theme for the November Play! is Me O’Clock – I was just recently peeved off over a YouTuber yakking on about self-care and SJW’s, two terms that I feel have been completely bastardized in the United States especially. I don’t know when self-care was hijacked by self-proclaimed SJW’s but it’s definitely abused. I feel that…

Sample Saturday – tarte Rainforest of the Sea

tarte started dabbling in skincare some time ago, I am a big fan of a lot of their products but considered them a cosmetics brand rather than a skincare brand. One of my fav Yourtubers raves about a couple of their skincare items and when they popped up as 100 Point rewards at Sephora, I decided to go for it. I tried the Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost and Marine Boosting Mist. I still only have the sample size of the cream because I haven’t been using it a ton but I did purchase a full-size of the mist because I think it is really great. The Drink of H2O…

Sample Saturday – Make Up For Ever Minis

It’s a little known fact, I go hard for hair bands; Alice Cooper, Whitesnake, RATT, Poison, Quiet Riot, Night Ranger, Aldo Nova, Twisted Sister, Warrant – the perms, spandex, bandanas – I am there. My current playlist list for work is a compilation of the 100 greatest hair band songs (in my opinion) – it’s kind of a problem, I find myself gripped with the desire to start screaming the lyrics to Paradise City. So few people understand the appeal of the hair band, I think it’s a very misunderstood genre. The showmanship, the energy, the talent, I was born in the wrong era, *le sigh* That being said, I hope that everyone thinks I…

    Sephora Beauty Insider Event Wishlist

The Beauty Insider Invite is upon us and it looks as though Rouge gets two weekends this time around – or maybe that has always been the case but I am still excited about it! I feel like these sales are times that I purchase things that I would never purchase without a coupon. Of course I have a loves list a mile long but there are a few things that are definitely at the top. The first and probably most painful item is the AmorePacific Moisture Bound Rejuvenating Creme – this stuff is amazing. I was skeptical the first time that I used it because it has a very potent scent and…

Wednesday Reveal – Play! The Beauty Remedy Edition

I hate the feeling after a holiday is over of total deflation – after Christmas is the absolute worst even though I do milk the holidays until my birthday. Everything seems so bland and ordinary, I also don’t decorate for the in between time from Halloween to Christmas so my apartment is super dreary looking. Such first world problems, wah-wah. I was literally just saying that I was hoping that Sephora would release more limited edition, luxury Play! bags and they recently launched the Beauty Remedy Edition, there were two options to choose from, each box included 6 samples from top brands with a mix of makeup and skincare. I received the wrong one and…
