Monday Might Have – Magic Cream

Happy Monday 😛 I don’t think I have ever said that or Happy Friday in my life, I’m unsure if I ever will again. My Monday Must Have is a product that I go back and forth on even though it tends to get pretty amazing reviews. Now, I know that Charlotte Tilbury is a bit over-hyped, even though I like a few of her products I just don’t believe that they are all iconic. Also, can everyone take a moment to stop abusing that word? It’s used so often that I don’t think it means what people think it means…Magic Cream makes a lot of claims, it is supposed…

    MishiBox – Spring 2018

I have been Halloween movie shopping (too soon?) for 31 Nights of Horror, I want to review some new classics for this year. FYE is the best place to go for gently used movies, in my opinion and they carry a ton of random merchandise. I noticed a display of K-Beauty boxes and well, obviously had to give one a go. I think that these particular boxes are made especially for sale at FYE and could differ from the actual monthly subscription box offerings but don’t quote me on that. I cancelled all of my subscription boxes because I had way too many samples piling up, I like it when…

    Starting Tretinoin

And I am absolutely terrified! Reason being is that my skin looks pretty flawless right now, or as close to it that it has been since having moved to a metro area which really freaked it out. I don’t eat dairy, meat or processed sugar and I drink my body weight in water so please, no helpful tips 🙂 Moving to a city where the air and water are chalk full of toxins, destroyed my skin and it has taken me years to get it back to a point where I feel good about not wearing foundation constantly. I am starting tretinoin as the first step in getting rid of…

    Best of April

Remember when summer used to be a feeling not just a season? The feeling of elation and pure bliss as you threw open those double doors for the last time and embarked on 3 months of unadulterated freedom? It occurred to me while leaving work yesterday that I won’t ever experience that feeling again, summer is now just 3 months of trying to figure how to not sweat through your business casual clothing. That doesn’t mean you can’t peel out of your employer’s parking lot on a Friday night scream singing to the best nostalgic summer hits that your dusty ass Ipod has to offer. Before, we get to the…

    Sunday Funday!

I went to the grocery store this morning bright and early to get some Snowmageddon supplies and I forgot that today was the last game prior to the Superbowl and the store was packed. There is not a unit of measurement small enough to quantify how much of a shit I don’t give about most professional sports. I will watch hockey but outside of that, I just don’t care. I can’t care, it’s physically impossible. Anyway, we’re having a Sunday in, I am making this pork roast and it smells amazing. I ordered some new furniture coverings, one of the cats is terrible about clawing so I have to get…

    Sample Saturday – OUAI

I have a bit of a rant this morning, about something completely lame – it makes me feel lame even talking about it but that should make the people who do it feel even more lame. I am talking about following to unfollow – it’s tacky and completely negates the social aspect of social media. If it’s just a numbers game, why even waste time following people, determining when they follow back and then unfollowing…? Why not just buy followers at that point? Seems way easier, in my opinion. I didn’t even know this was a thing but now that I know that this happens, it totally sucks the fun out of…

    Best of September

It’s 48 degrees outside, what a glorious morning. October is my favourite month, I hope it doesn’t fly by 🙁 I don’t have a ton of favourites, this was another month of trying to use products up and most are products that I have had for so long because I simply don’t like them. But I did have a few products that I loved this month. This powder, what can I say about the Dermablend Loose Setting Powder? It is amazing, it is finely milled, not too heavy and does an incredible job of keeping my makeup in place all day. It’s fairly affordable too in comparison to other high-end…

Sample Saturday – Kiehl’s Night Owl Set

I purchased a new Glade scent, Flannel Embrace – it is supposed to be a fall scent and it smells nice. It’s a nice blend of woodsy meets spicy and I am allergic to it. We have come full circle, I am allergic to the scent of my favourite season. I would do unspeakable things for someone if they would simply cure allergies – if you know of a mad scientist who is in need of some unspeakable things, let me know. Today’s Sample Saturday is a little different, I have a Kiehl’s sample set that came with a recent order. It included 5 of their best-selling night time treatments…

Sample Saturday – First Aid Beauty

The X-Files has to be my all-time favourite TV show ever since I was way too young to be watching it. I really thought that they were real agents and I so badly wanted to work for the FBI and solve X-Files with Fox Mulder. Not that they solved any cases, thinking on it now they were probably the worst FBI agents in the history of the bureau. Nine (now ten) seasons and two movies with no closed cases 😛 When I was old enough to realize that Fox Mulder wasn’t an FBI agent, I was forced to change my career plans. *le sigh* Today I have two products from First…

    September Wishlist

Driving into work this morning, absolutely bawling my eyes out listening to JJ Watts talk about his fundraising efforts for Harvey relief aid. Coworker asks me what’s wrong, I’m fine. I just found my faith in humanity again and I just cried off about $1.75 worth of Dior mascara 😀 I am a pretty emotional person, but my delivery of all emotions is dead pan unless I am crying so it is often hard for others to gauge what I am thinking or feeling. I will be super excited about something and be like, Oh, I am so excited; and people think I am being sarcastic but I’m not! When my hamster died,…
