    Peanut Butter & Honey Time

So apparently – it is not OK to call a new-born baby a fresh-baby when describing the new baby that your neighbors had. But folks, isn’t fresh the same as new? They are synonyms and I feel that they are fairly interchangeable but society says otherwise. I don’t know sometimes but I will never say fresh-born baby ever again because I am not a pariah. I’m sorry, I don’t interact with a lot of babies – I don’t often have to describe them or talk about them. Honestly. But guess what – I do have some fresh and moist (it’s not moist but since I am already a social outcast…) makeup to share with you and I feel like such a hypocrite…

  • Best Of's,  Show Me Your Empties

Best of March & Some Empties

I love how people who grew up on typewriters and fax machines complain about how slow computers are and that you have to sign in and meow, meow, meow. YOU USED A TYPEWRITER, the fuck are you talking about – I think it is a complaining just to complain thing and it annoys the dickens out of me. I mean, does anyone remember dial-up? It was a nightmare and still wasn’t even that bad,  honestly. Anyway, I am cheating by combining my monthly favourites and empties into one post because 1) I am lazy and 2) I just didn’t have that many of either but let’s get to it! My…

  • LipMonthly,  Subscription Boxes

    Wednesday Reveal – March LipMonthly

I think that Lip Monthly is fast becoming my favourite subscription box, I love having new lippies to play with and the contents feel over all more cohesive than some of other boxes. This month was very spring themed with bright colours, I received a liquid lippie, a gloss, a lipstick and the beauty surprise was a sheet mask. The bag is a small, cotton minty green thing with a geometric pattern. Here is what I received: Laritzy Liquid Lipstick in Lola – This is a lovely orange red lippie, it almost reminds me of the colour of poppies and I liked the undertones with my complexion. It it a very…

Product of the Week – Wet ‘n Wild Cover All Primer

I feel so thrifty when I look at what products I am using the most and they are drugstore brands! If I was one of those less is more kinda’ gals then I would be saving so much money, I can literally do my whole face in drugstore brands. But I am not one of those gals, I am a more is more gal and I like having options. Anyway, I picked up a few priming products from Wet ‘n Wild and so far my favorite has been the Coverall Primer. For 4.99 you get a little under an ounce (.8 I think but mine doesn’t say) of product that claims to minimize pores, fill fine…

March Fail – Perfume or Poison?

And not Dior Poison, I mean actual poison. I don’t usually have such strong feelings about products and  will still find a use for something even if I am slightly disappointed but this one is pretty bad. I recently used up all of the bottles of perfume that I had in my collection and wanted to try something totally new. I settled for Mon Guerlain, I read that it was a tribute to today’s femininity a la Angelina Jolie and I assumed that it would be an update on some of their classics that would incorporate flavours of their signature fragrances. Lavender, jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla are supposed to be the key notes, these are additions…

    More Fresh Baked Goodies

Confession, I really want to love cream shadow – it just feels like something I should be into but I am always hesitant to try new ones. I do like the look of cream shadows used as primers and eyelid colour corrector and decided to take a gamble on the cream Eyescreams from Beauty Bakerie. I only chose 2 matte, neutrals because I am just super boring like that and I really want to use these as bases. You get 3 grams for $16 and there are 14 shades, I chose Crumb Cake and Pancake. The shadow comes in a super cute, frosted glass pots with pink top. My only…

Product of the Week – Wet ‘n Wild Photofocus Foundation

I am kinda’ bummed, Modcloth was purchased by Jet.Com which is a subsidiary of Wal-Mart. I am not one of those people who holds grudges against brands (in most cases) if I looked back at my entire life, I know that there are things that I did that aren’t flattering and I wouldn’t want people to forever judge me for. But there is just something about this that bothers me, Modcloth should have known that their consumers especially would be pissed off about this. Something about it just feels icky, I hate to part with this brand – they fit my personal style so well but my recent spring order…

    March Wishlist

I like to make breakfast for dinner and then eat it in bed, it is like breakfast in bed but you don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to make it 😛 I feel like such a hypocrite posting a wish list after posting my no buy but it is raining here and not the good, downpour rain – just the annoying spittle rain and it is just overcast enough to screw over my images. So, here is my wish list 😀 I am really starting to hate 2 little words, Limited Edition – why does it seem as though every release, from every brand is limited…

    The New Generation

I am pretty excited about the snow that we are getting today but I usually plan all of my posts for the week on Saturday/Sunday and it has been so overcast that my pictures aren’t looking too great. I will probably have to blaze home after work tomorrow and catch the late afternoon sun – we shall see. Glossier, the chicest leader in minimalist beauty has added some new blushers to their line – I grabbed a couple to try and also ordered some of their Generation G Sheer Matte Lippies to try for spring. I wear opaque, matte lips most everyday and thought these would be nice for weekends…

    Pastels, If We Must

Sometimes I hate that we live our lives so transparently online, I feel as though we have so much access to intimate information that we didn’t have even 10 years ago. I hate it when I read or hear something distasteful that someone I admire says or does. I was reading an article today and it was about a favourite childhood star and I couldn’t help thinking what a pretentious little idiot the person was while I was reading their responses to the interview questions– I was so disappointed. I don’t even know why truly, we don’t know these people, what they say and do has no bearing on our…
