    MishiBox – Spring 2018

I have been Halloween movie shopping (too soon?) for 31 Nights of Horror, I want to review some new classics for this year. FYE is the best place to go for gently used movies, in my opinion and they carry a ton of random merchandise. I noticed a display of K-Beauty boxes and well, obviously had to give one a go. I think that these particular boxes are made especially for sale at FYE and could differ from the actual monthly subscription box offerings but don’t quote me on that. I cancelled all of my subscription boxes because I had way too many samples piling up, I like it when…

The Last Time I Lied: A Review

Spoilers ahead! I did it, I blazed through my BOTM pick for the month and I am almost a little bummed about it because they haven’t had much of an interesting selection these past few months. I chose The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager, I mostly liked his first book under this pseudonym, Final Girls and did a review on it here if you are interested! His second offering is a departure from the cheesecake horror genre which surprised me since the setting is at a summer camp a la Camp Crystal Lake and I was expecting somebody to get slashed. Emma Davis finds herself back at Camp Nightingale…

Wednesday Reveal – December Sephora Play!

I received a notification that Nylon is no longer offering their monthly box and I am unsure if I will be receiving a box for December or not! This somewhat inspired me to cancel all of my subscription boxes, I have 3 shoe boxes of samples to use up and though I love getting the little beauty bags, it seems wasteful. I am also at a point where I know what my skin needs, I know what kind of makeup I like and I don’t get as much joy out of new things to try. I will definitely keep an eye out for luxe boxes and limited edition boxes but…

    Wednesday Reveal – December Glambag

I just finished wrapping gifts this weekend, I like to really draw it out and only wrap a couple at a time. So, I am minding my own business, listening to some Christmas carols on Pandora when The Gael comes on – if you don’t what that is, it was used as the theme for The Last of the Mohicans – bagpipes, drums, the whole nine. This film devastated me in my youth and I cannot listen to the soundtrack to this day without becoming completely distraught. I am that person who will hear a piece of music and just start bawling like an idiot, I heard My Maria by Brooks and Dunn (I…

    Wednesday Reveal – November Glambag

Real talk, have you ever found out that someone is a church-goer and it made you think less of them? Not because I am anti-church, or anti-faith or anything but because the person is just such an asshole that you cannot fathom how they could possibly go and sit in church every Sunday and be the way that they are!? I was made privy to this information about someone recently and I wanted to just stop everything and ask them, So – you just choose to be a condescending, elitist, snotty prig and then you go to church? What church do you go to?! The Church of Latter Day Assholes?! I…

    Sample Saturday – AmorePacific

AmorePacific is one of those brands that I find has some really fantastic products that are worth the price tag and then some products that are pretty average and over-priced. I received the Treatment Cleansing Foam in a deluxe-size sample and now that I have used the entire tube, I am categorizing this product as average. This product claims to be great for normal, oily and combination skin. It is supposed to remove makeup and impurities without stripping the skin and combat breakouts. The thing is, it isn’t really formulated with anything that has been proven to work miracles, the hype is all around the inclusion of red-ginseng and a…

Wednesday Reveal – November Sephora Play!

I don’t know if I am doing Blogmas this year, I find it really hard to write posts that are holiday related. I mean, I love Christmas but how does one talk about it for 25 straight days?! I enjoy reading everyone’s Blogmas but I myself am in need of some holiday inspo. It’s funny that the theme for the November Play! is Me O’Clock – I was just recently peeved off over a YouTuber yakking on about self-care and SJW’s, two terms that I feel have been completely bastardized in the United States especially. I don’t know when self-care was hijacked by self-proclaimed SJW’s but it’s definitely abused. I feel that…

    Sample Saturday – Tom Ford

What is so irresistible about luxury beauty? I feel as thought there has been an influx of these brands within the last 5-10 years, there has to be some aspect that is so appealing to consumers. I recall brands such as Estee Lauder, Lancome, Clarins, Guerlain and YSL being the must have luxe-brands and in comparison to some of these newer ones, the oldies seem downright affordable which is absurd. I understand the thrill of owning a really stunning bit of expensive makeup but not from these no-name brands that are flooding Sephora. I feel better about sinking cash on the brands who have a history of quality rather than…

    Wednesday Reveal – October Birchbox

This is actually my final Birchbox, I only had two months left of a full year of this service but it didn’t seem worth it. I didn’t love this subscription, yes it is only $10/month but the boxes always felt thrown together with no cohesiveness. Also, this month I think I received the curated box which I didn’t choose…? Anyway, here is what I received in my final Behind the Scenes box: Matrix Biolage R.A.W Uplift Shampoo & Condition – I like the aesthetic of this line from Biolage, they look like juice drinks. This is a volumizing and body-boosting duo formulated with black sesame and grapefruit. I have used…

    Wednesday Reveal – October Nylon

Confession, I think that the Christmas tree is going up this weekend. I don’t why I am just in the holiday spirit and I could really take or leave Thanksgiving. I always thought that Thanksgiving was just a PR stunt, I mean, it is a nice story but does anyone really think that is the way it went down? It is fascinating to me that this random, 3-day feast with no religious overtones has stood the test of time for almost 400 years. The celebration of the harvest always seemed a bit Pagan for the Puritan pilgrims but anyway, I don’t love Thanksgiving. I am that odd person who will…
