    Sample Saturday – AmorePacific

AmorePacific is one of those brands that I find has some really fantastic products that are worth the price tag and then some products that are pretty average and over-priced. I received the Treatment Cleansing Foam in a deluxe-size sample and now that I have used the entire tube, I am categorizing this product as average. This product claims to be great for normal, oily and combination skin. It is supposed to remove makeup and impurities without stripping the skin and combat breakouts. The thing is, it isn’t really formulated with anything that has been proven to work miracles, the hype is all around the inclusion of red-ginseng and a…

    Sample Saturday – Tom Ford

What is so irresistible about luxury beauty? I feel as thought there has been an influx of these brands within the last 5-10 years, there has to be some aspect that is so appealing to consumers. I recall brands such as Estee Lauder, Lancome, Clarins, Guerlain and YSL being the must have luxe-brands and in comparison to some of these newer ones, the oldies seem downright affordable which is absurd. I understand the thrill of owning a really stunning bit of expensive makeup but not from these no-name brands that are flooding Sephora. I feel better about sinking cash on the brands who have a history of quality rather than…

    Wednesday Reveal – September Birchbox

A new day, 100 new makeup releases. Honestly, where do these brands find the time!? I think the new Fenty Beauty line looks stunning and Rihanna is that perfect mash-up of chic yet cool. I am hesitant to try anything as reviews have been so all over the place though. The line is owned by Kendo Brands which interestingly enough also owns KVD Beauty and Marc Jacobs – I never would have guessed that these two brands share a parent company. I also like both of these brands, I am definitely curious about the new addition to their line up. There are a few Sephora stores in my area that carry the line, I might…

    BOTM – First Impression

I don’t have a beauty post today because the overcast weather that we have been enjoying hasn’t presented a lot of opportunities for photos. I thought that I would share my first month experience with my Book of the Month subscription and a little review of the book that I read. The BOTM club offers a few different membership options, I chose the single book each month for $15 and I can add additional books for $9.99. They offer a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, I find that they have a ton of debut books and new releases to choose from. At the first of each month, they announce what books are…

    Sample Saturday – Origins

I finished Big Little Lies – amazing and now jumped into the show but something is lost in translation here. The actors just seem to be phoning this in, the book was way more suspenseful and thought-provoking. I think the cast is amazing but such lame performances – the best performance is from the guy you want dead 🙁 For today’s sample I have this super adorable tube of Origins Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream that came in my last Play Box that I have been really loving. This cream claims to have energizing qualities that remedy puffiness, dullness and dark circles. I am pretty lucky in that I don’t have…

    Sample Saturday – Lauren Brooke

A lovely Saturday, no snow but at least we are back to feeling like it is winter! Today I have another little beauty from a Vegan Cuts box that I received a few weeks back now and have been loving. It is the Sweet Sixteen Pressed Cheek Color by Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques. If you don’t know Lauren Brooke – check them out!! This line offers loads of natural, good for you, clean beauty products and I do mean loads. This is probably one of the most extensive, natural beauty lines that I have ever come across and everything that I have tried has been fantastic quality and honestly, not terribly…

  • Ipsy

    Sample Saturday – H2O+

I randomly stumbled onto Beautylish this morning and was shocked to see that they had items in stock that the official brand websites did not – what?! Where have I been – I had no idea that this website existed but how convenient to be able to buy multiple brands at one time. Not to mention, some Jeffree Star products that  I have been wanting were on offer at really fantastic prices! I am jazzed to finally try this brand out. This is so great and so bad, shopping just gets easier and easier. This is my first experience with them, I will have to report back on how it goes.…

    Best of January

PSA – Mario Badescu dropped  a new facial spray, don’t worry – I ordered 5 bottles (2, I ordered 2) and cannot wait to share my thoughts! I don’t know if the rose one can be beat but we shall see! Yikes – 4 days until the end of January and I guess that it’s now acceptable to post a Best Of blog! This might be a long one but that means it was good month, right?! I am starting with skincare; this year (and every year) I convince myself that I will be dedicated to beautiful skin – I take care of my skin, I am no stranger at the dermatologist and know…

Wednesday Reveal – January Sephora Play!

I love fresh snow – it snowed today and everything looks all crisp and pure again, it was getting real ugly around here. I also love it when I order stuff online and then forget that I bought it and am not obsessively tracking it and when it arrives it is a surprise! Like a little gift from my past self to my current self 😛 I was on the wait list for Sephora Play! for a hot minute and received my first bag today. I wasn’t totally sold on subscribing for this one, reviews are all over the place but it is only $10 bucks a month and you…

    Wednesday Reveal – January GlamBag

I feel like my blog has become sub-box central but I am obsessed and I don’t know why I didn’t jump on this bandwagon sooner!I was pretty impressed with my December ipsy but I think January beat it. The theme this month is metropolis, I appreciate that ipsy chose to deviate from the ‘New Year, New Me’ overtone that most of my boxes have had so far. I am loving the metallic blue and silver bag, I will actually use this one. Here is a peek and some first impressions on the products that I received. Enjoy! SLMissGlam Beauty Blend Brush – I know that brushes might not be for everyone…
