    Summer Glow Base

I just spent 45 minutes looking at mayonnaise, not because I had any intention of purchasing any but because I couldn’t determine why there were so many different kinds. How is there a market for so many versions of the same product? How much mayonnaise are Americans consuming?! Is anyone really eating the olive oil kind because, gag. But then I realized that there are literally 500 different versions of almost any product – glass cleaner, laundry detergent, pickles, diapers, lotion – I just don’t understand how companies can make money, the supply has to exceed demand and yet prices tend to stay fairly stagnant or they increase. I hate…

    On Trend – Summer Trousers

A few weeks ago, I decided that this was the year that I would try to start wearing pants. Yup – I don’t wear pants. Outside of yoga pants that I actually use for their intended purpose, I didn’t own a single pair of pants until roughly 2 weeks ago. In the winter, this is fine but in the summer, it’s a pain and I just can’t be bothered. I don’t wear pants because I have disproportionately fat knees, I am not sure when I acquired this attribute and it’s problematic. I used to play pretty competitive volleyball and never recall the fat knee issue but here we are. I…

Product of the Week – boscia

Day 45 – skin is still as dry as the Gobi, it hurts to smile, no end in sight. I am actually praying  for humidity. Speaking of deserts, who knew that Dior made a ladies’ eau de toilette called Dune? Not me but I don’t care what it smells like, the fan girl in me has to have it. Even if it reeks, I would still get to tell people that I am wearing, Dune by Dior – the scent that your sci-fi fantasies are made of. I have never smelled it so cannot actually attest to that but I stand by it 😛 I recently picked up some new…

    July Wishlist

Sometimes I will look over and my Baby Cat will be in the throws of an existential crisis. It must be hard being a cat, not working, having food served to you and someone else cleaning up your poop 😛 Do you ever wonder what cats think about? Is that just me, that’s cool. A new month calls for a new lust list, I think! Here is what I am coveting for July: beautyblender Summer Fling Set – This isn’t so much a want as it is a need, my collection of sponges is pretty depressing. Most of them are missing bits and my baking sponge is oddly stiff. I…

Product of the Week – Caudalie

Update – I am smitten with the tarte Clay Stick foundation. I have been wearing it for the last couple of days and the shade turned out to be perfect. The consistency is so creamy and blendable, it is not full-coverage but it does a wonderful job of enhancing the skin and covering most issues. I was a little hesitant but it turned out really lovely! Anyway, the product of the week this week is grape water – not just any grape water though – $18 grape water in a can by Caudalie. This is not something that I would typically purchase because I don’t need extra moisture on my face most…

Wednesday Reveal – June Sephora Play!

Another Wednesday, another…no, I am kidding! I have not been posting the last few Sephora Play boxes because they have not been great and I feel like a jerk complaining about a $10 sample box. Honestly though, they have been lame! June was fabulous though and I definitely wanted to share. I don’t know what the theme is – something to do with summer, the bag has little bathing beauties on it? Are they themes, is it a catch phrase – I just don’t know. Here is what came in my box: OUAI Rose Hair & Body Oil – First off, this stuff smells ah-mazing!! It doesn’t spray, it spews…

Product of the Week – OGX

Well, summer is here – ding, dong – fashion is dead. I’m sorry – I hate summer. I don’t like the clothes that I have to wear, I don’t like what it does to my hair, I don’t like humidity. I just don’t like it, unpopular opinion. Anyway, I don’t think my baby kitty (Neptune) wanted me to go to work this morning. (Look at those teenie claws poking my vegan leather). You and me both, I am the opposite of what biology says I should be with sleeping patterns and seasons. I can be up by 5 no problem in the winter and awake until at least 10 but come summer,…

    Anti-Haul #5

It is Tuesday but definitely feels like a Monday plus it is overcast and cold.I am not feeling the summer vibes but still have some plants to pot! I am supposed to be striking vibes from my lexicon but it’s so hard. It’s like when you are told not to think about something and then all you can think of is that one thing. Don’t think about zebras – go 😛 Side note – I am listening to The Girl on the Train and she just bought gin and tonic in cans. Is that a thing? Does anyone know? I think I am due for an anti-haul, even though I keep buying things that…

    Fresh Feet on Repeat

Things that bother me – sandals. It doesn’t matter if I am wearing them or someone else is wearing them, they just kinda’ gross me out. I do have the sweatiest feet, hands, etc ever so it could be that I am just grossed out by my own feet (which I am) and therefore have developed a foot prejudice. I still wear sandals, gag but I use foot spray all of the time when I do. I honestly would rather just go barefoot than wear sandals, what is that? I am literally wearing sandals right now and it is driving me bananas. Obviously, sweaty feet aren’t something that one wants at…

    Summer Glo-ssentials

Somehow I ended up watching 13 Reasons Why – clearly, I am way too old to be watching this and cannot really relate to the characters but Netflix originals are usually decent. Seemingly, though I could not relate to the premise now, it surprised me that there were so many parallels to my own high school experience. Sans the tattoos, do high school kids really have tattoos, serious question? I think it’s tragic that high school has apparently changed so little, you spend 4 years just trying to fit in and not get shit on. My family was just too out there, I grew up in a very small, very…
