Blogmas Day 18: Easy Cinnamon Rolls

We had a brunch at work and I didn’t know what to bring, I can’t even recall what I brought last year but I wanted something different that was still easy so I busted out a tried and true cinnamon roll recipe that is pretty hard to mess up. People get stressed out about yeast but this recipe is great because it only requires one rise and it’s after you have the rolls cut and in the pan so you don’t really have to worry about your dough not rising.     I recommend using a super sharp knife to cut the rolls or they’ll just get squashed, mine never…

Blogmas Day 17: My A to Z’s of Christmas

I have read a few of these posts recently and enjoyed them so much, I didn’t do this last year so figured it would be a fun addition to the Blogmas rotation. I think it’s like a word association exercise where you come up with a holiday related word for each letter of the alphabet – let’s get to it! The church where I attend Christmas mass has this enormous statue of Michael in the mezzanine, it used to be at the front doors but I think it was moved because it’s terrifying in it’s magnitude. Over the years I have come to associate this statue with some of my…

Blogmas Day 16: Living Room Decor

Do you ever find yourself scrolling through someone’s Instagram or reading their blog and wondering if they are a real person? It sounds nuts but I’ve always pondered on existence and whether or not we live in a simulation which is probably just an indication that I watch the Sci-Fi channel too much. But it makes me wonder sometimes, having never met these people that I follow and read about online, if they really exist. Is this an existential crisis – it feels like one. I realized today that I still had not blogged about the rest of my home decor or the stuff I put up at work either…

Blogmas Day 15: Glam Mr. Grinch

Breaking news, I finally lost an eyelash – not the wonky one that I wanted to lose but I was anticipating this moment for the past week. I’m actually really impressed that I’ve only lost one eyelash and I’ve had the lashes on for a week, that isn’t shabby. At this rate, I feel like I could wait it out for a 4 week fill but we’ll see if they start coming out more frequently as time passes. Also, it’s 40 degrees outside and global warming has fucked my mood – everything is melting and brown and smells like manure. I thought that we had at least a few months…

    Blogmas Day 14: Garnet Eyes

People, the stars finally aligned and I was on Instagram just as Pixi Beauty posted that their giant Glow-Tonic would be available and I finally snagged one! I’ve literally never managed to purchase one of these coveted jumbo-bottles and I am so excited. It gets better even because it’s the holiday edition, I’m so pumped but that has nothing to do with today’s post πŸ˜› I picked up a couple of the Stila Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadows that I thought were good for the holidays. I have to say that these and the glitter shadows are kinda’ hit or miss with the quality. Some shades are super vibrant and…

Blogmas Day 13: Vlogmas I’m Keeping Up With

Does anyone still do Vlogmas!? I thought that this list was going to be a bit longer but then I realized that only 2-3 of the Youtubers that I consistently watch are even daily vlogging this year. I can understand that it might get a little monotonous participating each year, I share the same blog posts each year for my Blogmas but I still think it’s fun so it does bum me out. Also though, it’s generally the OG’s who post for Vlogmas and they’ve been doing it for literally years so I guess that logic doesn’t follow. Anyway, what I am even talking about? Trisha is an OG and…

Blogmas Day 12: My Toy Wish List

Confession, I love toys. If I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed about life, I will literally browse the toy section of Target or Wal-Mart on Saturday at like 7 AM or the American Doll store at MOA is pretty legit too. I still feel personally attacked by the closure of Toys ‘R Us and a life goal of mine is to visit FAO Schwarz. I have fond memories of receiving the holiday catalog from FAO Schwarz each year from my grandparents who were estranged from my mother but let us pick a toy each year. We would spend hours picking out the exact perfect gift, it was bliss. I’ve been checking…

Blogmas Day 11: Holiday Movie Watch List

Guess what?! I have a rant and this time it’s about co-workers and I mostly don’t care who reads this because I work with quite a few ‘long-timers’ who have shitty attitudes and nobody wants to call them out on their bullshit. I think that my one big issue with working in the public sector is that people can sit in jobs and rot for literally decades without little to no concern about improving their skill set or having to compete for raises or promotions. I love my job, I love my schedule, I feel very lucky to have landed the job that I have but I also spent a…

Blogmas Day 10: KVD Lolita, Let’s Talk

Is a requirement of Blogmas that the posts need to be festive? If so, I apologize in advance for this non-festive post but it’s something that has been on my mind and I have some opinions (shocking). For some years now, Kat Von D has had a couple of products in her line in the shade Lolita. It’s a chestnut rose shade that is supposed to be universally flattering and admittedly, it’s a very lovely shade. Today, she dropped an entire collection built around the OG Lolita and I have an issue with this. Lolita conjures an image of a young, beautiful, petite tejana with a mischievous smile and big…

Blogmas Day 9: Patrick Starrr x MAC Holiday Collection

I was ID’d at Culver’s this evening for like a $3 custard and I’m still offended. I mean, clearly, if I was going to steal a credit card the last place that I would use it at would be a Culver’s or I would roll through and order one of everything on the menu! I know that there’s a lot of identity theft that happens during the holidays but a custard?! It wasn’t even that good, anyway – for today’s blog I have a few bits from Patrick Starrr’s final collection with MAC Cosmetics. This time last year, he released his first collection and it makes me a little sad…
