Naked Heat Collection – First Impressions

Leave it to British television to rip your guts out – between the finale of The Fall and how Broadchurch season two ended, I’m a little distraught. I am excited to see David Tennant in another season of Broadchurch but I am going to have to take a breather. I still haven’t gotten over Rose *sob* or Donna Noble for that matter – who the hell writes this stuff?! My co-worker asked me if I ever get tired of putting on eye makeup *gasp* I get that it may not be everyone’s cup of tea to do their makeup everyday and I like to sleep as much as the next person but I…

    Anti-Haul #5

It is Tuesday but definitely feels like a Monday plus it is overcast and cold.I am not feeling the summer vibes but still have some plants to pot! I am supposed to be striking vibes from my lexicon but it’s so hard. It’s like when you are told not to think about something and then all you can think of is that one thing. Don’t think about zebras – go 😛 Side note – I am listening to The Girl on the Train and she just bought gin and tonic in cans. Is that a thing? Does anyone know? I think I am due for an anti-haul, even though I keep buying things that…

What’s in My Bag – Summer Edition

I picked up the It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact Serum Foundation because Allure told me it would change my life. The editors at Allure are liars. I thought I would love this because it is formulated with their signature cream and it has loads of SPF and anti-aging benefits. I hate it, I am wearing it right now and I just want to slap my face off of my face. I will share a full review at another time but until then, literally the worst. Seeing as how I have felt the need to touch my face a billion times today, I thought it would be a good day…

    Top Three Eye Primers (currently…)

I say currently because as I have said a million times over, I am a primer junkie and if there is a primer out there – I am going to try it. I have three in rotation now, I don’t keep a ton of eye-primer on hand as I do worry about bacteria and expired products so close to my peepers. I have oily eyelids which is super annoying and I need a primer that is going to control oil and keep my shadow from creasing. This is a tall order to fill as I don’t think companies really target oily eyelids – you can find oil reducing products for…

    The Ultimate Pair

Ah, Easter Sunday and there isn’t a lick of snow on the ground – makes me a little sad. I hope you are having a lovely day, this is slated to be the only sunny day this week here 🙁 Soak it while you can! ULTA was having a sale on some UD products including their blushers and powder foundations, I decided to pick up some back-ups in case these are being discontinued. I have been wanting to try their new lipsticks for some time but never knew where to start, there are quite literally 100 shades and just as many liners. As if the shade array wasn’t overwhelming enough,…

    Anti-Haul #2

I think I am due for another anti-haul, I am getting new product alerts almost everyday and these are the items that I cannot/will not buy! It is so hard this time of year with all of the new beauty releases but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing (just say no). I received an app alert from Sephora that there will be several new, exclusive products that will be available this weekend only and one of those products is from Urban Decay – their new Highlighting Fluids. I am skipping these because I cannot with good conscience own yet another highlighter and UD has been missing…

The Not So Best of January

To start, Ben  Wishaw could be the next doctor – shut up. Officially, there are 15 other contenders but who cares about them.  Well, I would take Rupert Grint but won’t he always be Ron? Idris Elba would be kick ass too but I’d rather see him in a Bond movie. And can I throw Ryan Cartwright out there? He was perfect as Nigel in Bones, I was bummed with how and when he left 🙁 Anyway, so many not so best things from January but I am sticking to the beauty related stuff here 😛 Truly, it was a pretty great month for discovering new products that are really working for…

First Impressions: UD Optical Illusion Primer

I am trying to get into American Gothic and I just don’t know if I am feeling it or not…? It seems like they were going for a dark comedy, zany series in the first episode and then it took a turn to drama but it still seems like the acting is just really bad and none of that was intended. Is anyone else watching this? Does it get better? The acting I mean, or does it stay offbeat?I am kind of relieved that there is only 1 season. In other news, I am starting a new series, MOTD Mondays where I will share what products I used for the…

The Not So Best of 2016

I am hesitant to call these products or any products the worst because that feels a tad dramatic and what didn’t work for me might be someone else’s favourite product. But when you buy as much makeup as I did this last year, you are bound to find some duds and I certainly did. This post is in no way meant to dissuade anyone from trying these products out, these are simply my opinions. 1 – TooFaced – Hangover Replenishing Primer We knew this would be on here. I am still bummed because it smells so fantastic and that initial application feels fabulous but this just does not work for…

    Best of December

I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday weekend, it is raining here and all of the snow is melting 🙁 Confession, I cannot watch the second season of Outlander as it chronicles the Battle of Culloden and it just makes me too sad. Centuries of culture, language, land, livelihoods and tradition crushed in less than a day, I just can’t do it – not even watching it in a fictional TV series. If history is written by the victors, I cannot help but wonder what all got lost in translation. I should really just stick to reading the encyclopedia, I get much too invested in fiction. But I am…
